Completing an Application

Having a Medical Examination Done

Having a Police Check Done

You will need to provide a police check or penal clearance certificate from every country that you have ever lived in. This is designed to prove that you don't have a substantial criminal record, that you aren't currently on probation or parole, and that there aren't warrants out for your arrest in any other country.

Providing Evidence of Your Relationship

You will only qualify for a partner visa if your spouse or partner is a citizen of Australia or New Zealand. You will need to provide information about your partner, and you will need to provide evidence of your relationship. It's a good idea to start gathering up this evidence now, such as your marriage license, copies of joint bank accounts or leases, and any other evidence that you can come up with.
